Winners of Bursaries to attend the IDEAS Symposium in Geneva - 21 July 2004
A Symposium with the theme “Rethinking Development Evaluation” is to be held in Geneva, Switzerland, on 26th and 27th July.
Through a generous donation from DFID, IDEAS has been able to offer a limited number of bursaries to IDEAS members to attend and to contribute to this event. Each applicant submitted an original paper on a topic related to the Symposium, and the following papers were chosen:
Rebecca Batwala (Uganda): “Kaleidoscope of Development Evaluation in Uganda”
Ricardo Furman (Peru): Development Evaluation’s Contribution for Better Performance and Stronger Governance in Latin America”
Felicidade Guterres (East Timor): “Timor Leste Case Study: Big Amount of Aid, but Small Result”
Alexa Khan (Trinidad and Tobago): “Why Theory-Based Evaluation may be the key to reducing the Evaluation Deficit”
Sadedin Limani (Albania) : “Rethinking Development Evaluation in the South West Balkans”
Congratulations to these members.
Rebecca Batwala has unfortunately been unable to take up her bursary due to difficulties over travel arrangements, but the remaining four will be able to make a contribution to “Rethinking Development Evaluation” in Geneva. We wish them Bon Voyage.
